These 2023 IELTS General Training Writing Task 1 practice themes are collected from topics discussed by candidates and examiners worldwide, then rewritten as original simulations.

They are not predictions, leaked papers, or a guarantee of what will appear in any test.

Practise under timed conditions, review weak areas, and repeat each task with clearer language and more accurate detail.

Each prompt is a letter. Cover every bullet, match the tone to the recipient, and write at least 150 words.

We update these lists weekly as common themes change across test regions.
